GRIM PROSPECTOR BY WOTAN

Digging in my library of space books on a recent nostalgia trip, I came across what could be the precursor to the SWORD Prospector! From the 1963 book 'Men on the Moon' the little box n wheels seems to owe more to an enthusiastic dad in his back garden trying to build a toy robot than an actual NASA concept! Th Swift picture book of Space Flight some two years earlier shows what could have been the inspiration for the final SWORD toy with its bright chrome guardrails and black balloon tyres.
