Saturday Morning Cartoons are Dead!

 It seems to me that what we knew as Saturday morning cartoons are dead.

Oh! the glories of Banana Splits, Spider Man, Marine Boy, the Arabian Knights and Shazzan to name just a few of many triumphs!

Our Grandkids don't watch telly in a morning. They each have a mobile phone which they either watch You Tube videos on or play games.

I tried putting CBBC on this morning but they just weren't really interested. 

The fact that children's TV is hived off on separate channels way down the listings is another nail in the cartoons coffin. 

Maybe all of terrestrial telly has had it?

Traffic Scam

One of my favourite ever Anderson knockoffs.

The Traffic Patrol helicopter, a gorgeous rip-off of a Spectrum chopper.

I first saw a black and white pic of this in Dennis Nicholson's superlative Anderson Merchandise Guide circa 1996.

The first time I saw it in colour was when Scarlet super collector Terry H posted one here in the late 2000's.

What a beauty.

Bill Ev's Letts TV21 Diary 2

Hi Again Woodsy

I certainly don't want to ignite the 2025/2065 dating argument. But the entry about Lady Penelope gives the impression [at least to me] that by 2065, she was elderly when offered the World Senate post.

 So, that would suggest the 2025 date for the Thunderbirds stories. At least from the diary.

I also remember a time travel story in TV21 when some of the boys, including Jeff, go forward to 2078, but age ten years as a side effect. Which suggests the 2060s timeline, which Gerry Anderson advocated.
