As Scalextric did a great job on the FAB 1 I've decided to order the new Spectrum Patrol Car.

I saw your post on MC of the 'Universe' Space themed briefcase and I have a couple of Captain Scarlet ones manufactured by SPK Tokyo. I also have one Joe 90 version but there is a second version plus I have also seen a Marine Boy version. I attach images of them for you.

Space Flying Saucer

 Like the F5 Moon Craft we saw the other week, here's another space saucer new to me.

Apocalypse Now and Then

I recently revisited one of my favourite films, Coppola's Apocalypse Now. It was the Final Cut so there were new things to see, namely, I think, the French family plantation section. I'm convinced I've never seen that before.

Couldn't spot anything else but it is a long flick. My favourite element is Martin Sheen's narration (it certainly sounds like him). I could listen to it all day long, especially as it fades out as the scene takes over.

The dialogue in general is just fabulous, even beyond the famous I love the Smell of Napalm ....

A great little line, one of many, is in the narration:

"Air Mobile (pronounced mobul), well, those boys just couldn't stay put!"

A superb movie: riveting, shocking, hypnotizing. Realistic? That I don't know.

Up and Down with LP's Clown

 It's great to get close ups from an auction of the LP clown car. 

Looking a lot like an early Pennywise, he's all geared up to trundle in his motor.

Looking at the axle it probably bobbed up and down too.

It's always interesting to see more of LPs output, besides their better-known space toys and astronauts.

STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW

Much against my better judgement I've really enjoyed watching the Netflix series Stranger Things , as it features two things that tend not to hold my interest - monsters and kids outsmarting the adults!

I've watched the latest episodes, and look forward to the next one in a couple of weeks time. I even went to see the stage play some time ago when it opened in London at the Phoenix Theatre. The play had a great cast, dazzling effects and some genuine scary moments.

The story opens on a US Navy destroyer which is taking part in a mysterious experiment (  I think we've all heard of that one). Following some startling  events on the ship, the action moves forward to the town of Hawkins during 1959 which begins to witness some weird supernatural occurrences, when a new school student, Henry Creel starts developing some really strange powers!!

As there appears to be a few Stranger Things fans on here, has anyone else seen it?

THE CAR FROM UNCLE

 As The Man from UNCLE TV series is coming to Talking Pictures TV in the UK in the New Year, here's a look at my AMT model of the UNCLE Piranha.

I have to say, as an experienced plastic model kit maker it's not the best. Nevertheless, I did make two just in case I thought it was just me, but no, both are equally as hideous and needed a lot of work just to make them look reasonable.

I was, however pleased to read that the owner of the actual Piranha shared my original post on it.
