Headless in Fitzwilliam

 We stood at a boot sale today.

As is traditional when two do it then each gets to have a wander!

My el cheapo haul today was thus:

Knockoff Mintex-style Action Man, Polistil Ambulance, 1978 Invicta Plesiosaur, 1984 Barbie exercise bike, 1985 Thundercats Cheetara without her head, MASK boulder.

I also got a MASK sports car and a small GEN 1 Transformer, but these are still in the car and I'm resting on the bed. Well I did get up at 5.30am!

I'll clean them all up next and attempt some repairs.

Waiting for a Tuk Tuk

 Standing at the local boot sale this morning, I left the Missus on the stall and had a mosey.

One thing I saw was a plastic toy tuk tuk or rickshaw car with a small seated figure.

A bit like this one online but not the same. I'd spent up so didn't get it.

On the base of the one I saw was the word Paladone - no idea what that is - and also MS, which I'm wondering if it may mean Marks and Spencer?

Anyone any idea?

Anyone got one? Anyone ever been in a tuk tuk or a rickshaw?

Slop Car

In August I picked up a bag of Scalextric in a junk shop. This old white Mercedes lurked inside.

I've since parted with it but I'm still wondering about the brownish gloop slopped all over it. I assume it's some old slot car kid's attempt at protection?

Is it varnish? Does varnish go brown like this over time? Is it lacquer?

LP MUSICIANS

 Speaking of LP musicians, here's a small orchestra of them I saw on a Japanese site. They get around!

All numbered on the base, this harpist, A8, is also clearly showing the LP logo.

Have you got any of these Hong Kong musicians?

Bob's Space Construction truck Series by S.S. Kresge

Hi Woodsy,

I came across, and purchased off of Ebay (new toy to me) a space construction truck vehicle which appears exclusive to S.S. Kresge stores.

By the price tag, probably from late 60s. I could not find anything about it on the blog. It's friction powered. There appears to be three vehicles in the series.

Made in Hong Kong. It's similar to the more common Tomy Space Explorer (battery op) series of construction vehicles that's been discussed several times on the blog. 

Any info?

LP FARMERS

These two mini farmer figures are so darn cute. The husband is carrying a lamb and the wife a tub of corn maybe.

(Pinocchio looks mean!)

The farmers, as far as I know, are part of LP's huge Hong Kong range of small plastic novelty figures, which includes musician animals and clowns.

Interestingly these two are numbered simply as A.

Have you any little farmers or any figures numbered with letters readers?

The Long Shadows of Late Summer

Here's a late summer pic of my old pops reading in the back garden. No idea what though. 

I think the object on the floor next to the chair is a tall glass.

I reckon the toy tractor had been mine but kept on for younger nephews and nieces. 

My guess is it was taken in the early 1970's.

Roto Jet that Cyclops!

I adored the little silver accessories like these from the Major Matt Mason range.

I especially liked the rifle at the top.

It was only as an adult that I found out it was a miniature copy of the mighty life-sized Lost in Space Roto Jet Gun. What a toy! I would have loved it.

Turns out too there were more like this, especially in Japan, who seemed to really go for the style of rifle.

 Did or do you have anything like this?
