Thunderbird clONE

I saw this Japanese novelty a while back on auction.

There's a strong resemblance to Thunderbird 1!

All part of the great Japanese love for Gerry Anderson and his shows.

I'm currently snowed in at the Grandkids' gaff. Schools closed. The hill's undrivable. The car's Snowbound. Cars attempting the hill road are skidding and burning rubber. Yep, it's winter in West Yorkshire.

JUNIOR'S ESCAPE RAFT

Last week Junior had fun with LEGO.

He made up a story, The Esca[e Raft, around a couple of vehicles and played for an hour on the floor acting it out. I was so jealous! It was a joy to see!

My Dome is my Castle

I'm currently staying with my Grandkids and my Granddaughter's little fairy castle dome is a delight. It even lights up.

I didn't have anything inside domes when I was a kid.

The overall look of this one reminds me of a domed Star Wars ESB collection I once saw in a Pembroke toy shop. Quite a snazzy thing, which I blogged in 2016.

OUR DOCTOR WHO CUSTOM TOY GUNS PROJECT COMPLETED!

I've had this book for about 30 years now, Doctor Who The Sixties.

I've always loved the toy section and in particular the Dr. Who toy gun display bottom right.

It was this picture that first gave me the idea to recreate it by making my own toy guns.

and here it is, mine and Bill's custom toy gun gallery done and dusted in the style of the above [I've mirrored the jet Immobiliser, as I only have the one].

and here are a few more shots of our custom WHO toys. Bill created all the box art and I made or sourced the toys/ assembled the boxes.

The scratch-made toys are the big Neutron-Exterminator, the Dalek Rocket Gun and the bigger Anti-Dalek Disintegrator pictured above.

The replica toys sourced and bought are the Jet Immobiliser [Billy water pistol, Germany; thanks Jo], the smaller yellow Anti-Dalek Disintegrator [Stun-Gun, UK, thanks Bill], Anti-Dalek Fluid Neutraliser [ outlaw style water pistol, UK] and the Dalek Astro Ray Gun [modern Astro Ray, USA, thanks Terranova47].

and finally, a monochrome pic as it might have appeared in a comic like TV21.

Hello Woodsy,

I've always wanted to use that quote, from the classic Aussie comedy film The Castle (featuring Thunderbirds performer Charles Tingwell!)

You were mentioning how you could dream of anything, but you dream of mundanity!

I'm the same, always tedious procedurals about losing my keys or my pants...

But recently, with my puppet film shifting into high gear, I actually had some remembered dreams about my characters!

Not my diminutive leading lady (who I've been waking-dreaming about for over 25 years) but my sexy Woman of Mystery who gives my heroine a hard time in the 22nd Century! She read me the Riot Act and didn't break character for a second!

Then I had a dream about the cheesy 1960's Italian Sci-Fi rip-off of 2001:A Space Odyssey, that features as a movie they watch!

This was so unusual, I had to draw a pair of comics about it. I hope you enjoy them!
