Do You Have a Nuclear Pulse?

My pulse is rising!

Looking at this old bundle again on the blog from five years ago with two loose Nuclear Pulses, I'm now seeing SpaceX Nuclear Pulses everywhere!

There's a loose one on auction at the moment too, which is always nice to see, especially with rotors and that mini space plane under the bubble.

In the loft I've a Nuclear Pulse set with Japanese instructions. Terry Harle got it me years ago, a true blog benefactor. Terry supplied us with our first blog exclusive souvenir, a tray of Imai die-cast Scramble Bugs. That was nearly 15 years ago! Wotan made special boxes. Did you get one?

Our Grandson Junior has a nice Pulse-like toy too. There's 4 rotors and it's even yellow. It's a LEGO vehicle.

There was of course a blue Nuclear Pulse in America in the toy catalogues. Was it released? Did you have one?

Brewster in a Tin

We picked up this second hand ted in a tin for the Granddaughter.

He's called Brewster and I kinda like the little fella. Undated, it says Brewster's on his label. It looks a few years old.

Is that a pub chain, Brewster's?

I do love cheapo knockoffs. Such creativity went into them and they're fun to see!

Dressed exactly like the Bionic Man toy figure she's ready for six million dollar derring-do! But what's that in her hand - a big Pomfret cake? - and what are those two instructions showing on the card!

As we seem to have quite a few Fireball fans tuning in, judging by my viewing figures and some excellent comments from some of you on my XL5 anniversary post yesterday I thought I'd dig out some of the Fireball photos I took featuring mega collector ,Bob Bailey's  XL5 and Supercar display at the 2021 Cromford Mills event. The Fireball XL5 model was built by Martin Bower, and the Steve Zodiac puppet is original.

The Stalco Seattle Coliseum Coin Bank 1962

A model by Stalco Products Corporation, from the Seattle World's Fair (or Century 21 Exposition) in 1962, was the Coliseum Coin Bank, or Money Box.

The Washington State Coliseum at the Fair housed a number of exhibits, and was later used as a sports arena and convention centre.

The Coin Bank was not a kit, but came pre-assembled. It seems to be a lot rarer than the Space Needle kit, and there are fewer listings for it on Worthpoint. Not being a kit, it is not mentioned on Scalemates.

Stock Number SWF 098, and again I wonder if this was the retail price at the time?

It is basically a square building, with large supporting girders, and an overhanging roof. In the centre of the roof is a coin slot, with a circular opening, and cover, in the base for removing your coins. Moulded along one edge of the roof are the words COLISEUM COIN BANK, with SEATTLE WORLD'S FAIR on the opposite edge, and the numbers 19 and 62 in the corners.

It came in various colours and combinations. Those I have found listed on Worthpoint include a white building with a red or blue roof; or a blue building with white roof.

The box is square, and mainly white, orange, and light blue. Again it is adorned with the Century 21 logo, and words Official Souvenir. On the side of the box is Official Seattle World's Fair 1962 Coliseum Coin Bank Souvenir.

The Stalco Products Corp. name and logo appear on the box side, but there does not appear to be an address. The Space Needle Hobby Kit has more information, stating that the company was based in Norwalk, California.

Crackerjack Annual 1978. I was 17 that year and no longer watched the great 5 to 5 Crackerjack. Not sure I watched telly at all in 1978 onwards for a few years. My head was full of rock.

And by comparison some brand new stuff in a modern department store's toy floor in the same town.

The new White Dwarf magazine. I remember buying a really early one of these mags, with a line drawing on the cover, when it first came out. Alas, its gone walkies. I love the title on this one, the Waaagh! surges South! What's a Waaagh?

Dungeons and Dragons Essentials Kit. I love the artwork. Reminds me of the old Brothers Hildebrandt Lord of the Rings illustrations.

Actual cap guns! The one bottom left is a toy agent pistol with silencer!

Goo Ju Zu, whatever that is and tons of boxed Playmobil sets. All very dear!
