I saw this set from the 1970's online and realised that we have it as part of our Grandchildren's play pile!

Interestingly it was released by Zodiac Toys, one of my fave toy shops when I was a kid.

 Like a lot of DALEK fans I really like Ron Turner's interpretation of those sons of Skaro.

I hasten to add this wonderful piece of original artwork above doesn't belong to me, but it's great to see some of Ron's work in vivid colour. 

Choose Your Own Adventure Books!

         I just discovered this interesting documentary on You Tube, a 20 minute history of Choose Your Own Adventure books. They were first published in the 1970s, and are still going. 

The reader is the central character, and is constantly given  a choice of what to do next, so the adventure changes as the reader progresses through the book. Each time you read, and make different choices, the adventure changes. 

I did read a few books of this type, but I had no idea there were so many. Some were set in various existing film, TV, book, and comic, or game worlds.

This is seven inches of sheer design brilliance. I just love this Jet Racer space car. What a body! All very art deco, its just ace. No idea of the maker. What do you think readers?

 It's not, of course; not that I'd expect a unique aircraft used by a super-secret organization to display anyway, but I can dream!

AIR SHOW TIME

It's the return of Southport Air Show this weekend following a two-year hiatus due to Covid.
