THERE IS ANOTHER

So you thought there was only one Hamill eh?

Forget Mark. The other 'one' is Dorothy Hamill. Ideal issued her as an action doll with a rink in 1977.

I had to chuckle when I saw these watches online showing a Star Wars rip-off display card. And what a card! Little marching Skywalkers and Leaia's. One little Luke is checking the time! Love it. By Hedi. But who are they?

Operation Zip-line!

One of the things Junior and me tried this weekend was a zip-line. It was an experiment inspired by the old Airfix flight deck I had as a kid, where a jet zoomed down a cord.

So with a fair wind of nostalgia we set about creating our line. String was strung at an angle and a suitable aircraft chosen and hooked up to it, a Playmobil bell helicopter.

We waited with baited breath ...

And nothing happened. Nowt!

The string was far too course. Nylon was required but alas Moonbase is nylonless.

The copter now hangs in the greenhouse still waiting for its inaugural big flight.

Avoid that Droid

A mate gave us a spare robot floor cleaner. It's very small and plastic and has bump n go action like the toys of the sixties! Reminds me completely of the SWORD Moon Prospector, which I adored as a kid.

Alas, despite my nostalgic gawping, little Moonbase Miss can't stand it! The whirling droid is in its back in the box! I'll have to sell it to the Jawas!

Bicycles and Ricicles

It's bank holiday Monday - for first of May - here in the UK. Overcast and dull. Still the Gkids are having fun. Breakfast was lucky charms and ricicles and toast with Dutch Hagel and cheese.

Junior has a new bike with pedals and stabilisers. Did you have one like that?
