MYSTERY MODEL SPACE PLANE
I CANNOT SEE CLEARLY NOW
A question was posed where I work today. What's the difference between transparent, translucent and opaque?
Well I got opaque completely wrong, thinking that it meant foggy or misty. Apparently it means no light passes through it or something like that.
Even more troublesome was transparent, especially when someone asked if a mirror was that, transparent. But no, mirrors could be said to be opaque as light doesn't pass through them.
A further slippery scenario given was where a obviously transparent object like a small window can be clearly seen in the opaque mirror. Does the mirror render the reflection of the window opaque as well?
And what about a lamp reflected in a mirror? Can the reflection be classed as a light source and thus make the mirror transparent?
I cannot see clearly and my head hurts!
Early Soviet Aircraft Kits
Another of the kit history films from Max's Models on You Tube, this one covers early Soviet plastic aircraft kits, most of which seem to have been modern civil types, with just a few military or WW2 aircraft.

BEAN BAGS: HAS BEANS?
Bean bags were everywhere in the Seventies. Like big soft lifeforms they could always be found nestling in the corner of a living or bedroom. Sometimes they had hippies on them relaxing.
These large portable sacks of beans were the essential squishy and comfy instant chair that could be plonked anywhere in the flat.
Often found next to a Mateus wine bottle containing tall dry coloured grass, bean bags were as much a part of the Seventies as prog and chicken in a basket.
I'm not sure if Punks liked bean bags when the decade waned or whether these kitsch familiars were thrown out with the Yes albums.
As for today, I've not seen a bean bag anywhere. Are they extinct?

ANTI ANTI LIFE
I've seen some ALIEN turkeys in my time but last night's ANTI LIFE takes the biscuit. Shame on Bruce Willis for being connected with such derivative rot. Even the title is almost an anagram of ALIEN and a poor one at that.
The copying begins immediately with the cryo-chambers. It staggers on from there with flame throwers, gooey monsters, crazed crew members and lots of gunk. All that's missing is the nodding bird.
Have you seen ANTI LIFE? Am I missing something?
