The more you look, the more bizarre model railway figures you find. Here are are some more vampires by the German company Presier. 

Again, expensive, but very nice. A collection of these is not going to take up very much room, although you may not want to share your home with a hoard of vampires.

I wonder if there are any other famous movie monsters available ? I shall have to keep looking.

STRENGTHENING MY ELLEGI BOAT BOX

A year ago - when things where normal - I bought this huge plastic Ellegi missile boat at the local boot sale.

It just looked magnificent so it came home with me.

Moonbase Mutt Blue said the box was very 'Ruff' though!

This summer I thought I'd strengthen the box.

I took some old stiff card from a previous life.

Glued the flattened box to the card and lay our heavy rug over it.

After a couple of days I took it out and it looked like this. Stiff and flat.

I re-scored all the box creases and made a few choice cuts and began to re-assemble the box.

I'm currently glueing the sides.

READER LEWIS'S VIEW-MASTER COLLECTION

 My previous posts on View-Master appeared to have proved popular, and a couple of people have contacted me about showing some of theirs, with one reader happy to let me take photos of the reels. Here's some photos taken by reader, Lewis Morley, of his fine collection of View-Master sets. Some nice and interesting items amongst this lot. 

On this photo, apart from UFO and Space: 1999, Battle Beyond the Stars, Buck Rogers and Superman Returns look interesting,  I reckon the Moon Landing one is also worth a mention.

The few stand outs for me on this selection are  Meteor, Star Trek, Close Encounters, Moonraker and Lost in Space.

The stand outs for me are of course, the Black Hole, in sleeve packaging, Star Trek the Motion Picture, which I've got but on the card packaging, but another example of 'cheated' forced 3-D images, and SEARCH, which in my circles is quite cultish.

THE END OF SUMMER

As the end of the summer approaches and Autumn light washes in like milk in a glass of water my mind wanders to the balmy care-free days that have just passed.

Our family holiday with the two Moonbase Juniors on the east Yorkshire coast was simply brill and was everything that Cliff Richard promised in his famous summer song, which we sang a lot!

Here are a few impressions of the moors and the sea, which I took whilst on our holidays.

Back home at Moonbase we marked the end of August with our traditional night-time firepit hoping to cast some light onto the darker months ahead.

Its always hard coming home after a care-free holiday I find but I didn't need to worry about the blog. Scoop did a fabulous job and continues to do so and I'd like to thank him on everyone's behalf for his sterling efforts.
