SHADO OPERATIVE AYSHEA GUESTING AT ANDERCON

One of the latest guest announcements for Andercon is actress and singer Ayshea who appeared as one of the control room SHADO operatives in UFO.

In this scene from UFO episode, 'Confetti Check A-O-K , Lt Ayshea Johnson is enjoying a cigar, much to the amusement of Col.Alec Freeman, Lt. Keith Ford and proud new father, Lt. Grey.

As part of the publicity of UFO, Ayshea appeared in a photo shot for the 1970 TV Times special, Christmas with the Stars, with actor Michael Billington, UFO's Col. Foster, featuring the fashions in UFO.

Ayshea, or Ayshea Brough as she is also known, was certainly popular with blokes like me growing up during the early seventies in the UK. She appeared in Pantomimes and summer shows and was a popular cabaret act. She was a recording artist with several albums and singles to her name. She was briefly engaged to Wizzard's, Roy Wood , who wrote and produced one of her singles, 'Farewell'.

She had a regular pop column in the Look - In Magazine, and presented the TV pop show, Lift-Off with Ayshea.

CBS MOON ROVER 1984: BIG ENOUGH FOR MAJOR MATT MASON?

With Major Matt being so popular I often see custom toys for Mattel's Man in Space online. There's some on Ebay right now. So I had to look twice when I saw this as I thought it too was a Major Matt custom job.

It isn't. Its a Moon Rover by CBS Toys from 1984. This is a toy and a company I don't know. Were there more in the line or was this a one off? Would it even work as a Matt Mason vehicle - is it the right scale?

I've just read that someone is selling plots on the Sun for a euro each!

Well, at least they were selling them until Ebay pulled the listing! Now the seller is sueing Ebay! The mind boggles!

I had to look twice at this and wonder if it was April Fools Day! Turns out that the seller has even registered the Sun in their name at a notary public in Spain.

The seller managed to list the solar plots for two years before Ebay pulled the plug. God knows if any were sold! I can guess where all those deeds to the plots went - up in smoke!

Seriously, is it even remotely possible for anyone to own the Sun? If that ever happens we'll be getting bills from Yorkshire Daylight, which would basically be, yes, daylight robbery!

THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO :SKYHOOK

Just finished watching the latest episode of TAG, 'Skyhook', here in the UK.

Not a bad episode, although a bit too fast paced for me. The Space Elevator is prominent in this one, although having a cable stretching from Tracy Island to Thunderbird 5 stretches my imagination a tad!

Every Tracy brother has a part to play, and every Thunderbird, apart from Thunderbird 4 is involved.

John comes out the hero in this, with Brains directing the action.

The bloke , the Tracy boys struggle to rescue is the annoying Langstrom Fischler , voiced by New Zealander, Rhys Darby, he of The Flight of the Conchords fame! The target audience, I'm sure will love his tirades and wisecracks, although some might think his character created a joke episode feel to the story .

All in all though, another fun episode.
