PHOTONIC CUT AND PASTE

I recently posted this gallery of different old images similar to the SpaceX Photonic Propulsion Space Station.

 

Thinking that SpaceX's concept may have been a composite of two or more of these images I've experimented bringing a couple together. Below is the finished result. On the left is a cut and paste hybrid of the four-armed station together with the red photonic spacecraft. On the right is the somewhat faded black and white illustration of the proposed SpaceX toy. What do you think?

 

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE WHERE YOU ARE?

Here in Blighty the subject of the weather (usually bad) is always on everyone's lips. As the seasons change so does the conversation.

It's becoming very autumnal here at Glenn Field. The nights are drawing in and there's a nip in the air. The leaves on the trees are just beginning to fall, and my garden's looking very tired.

I imagine that our readers in sunnier climes are still enjoying nice weather - Anybody out there want to comment on what their weather's like and cheer up a dull, cloudy Saturday over here?

Lost Dr Who Episodes

I must say the recent  discovery of nine missing episodes from the Doctor's second incarnation must have sent Dr Who fans and lovers of vintage TV into apoplexy, and considering it's coming up to the fiftieth anniversary next month, excellent timing.

I do remember  enjoying the The  Web of Fear  which (Dr Who fans prepare to correct me here ) introduced UNIT and Col. Leithbridge Stewart  - The second  story Enemy of the World I'm not so sure of. I have in recent times seen the only  episode thought to exist until this discovery, but I have to say I don't recall watching it at the time (I was probably watching Lost in Space or Voyage.. on ITV )

Although the discovery of these missing episodes are most welcome , I suspect I'm not alone in wishing a few lost Dalek stories might have been found, but, hey you never know, this find in Nigeria leads me to think the possibilities of finding  more stuff are as endless as time and space.

I'm currently catching up on modern space movies I've missed. I absolutely loved MOON by Duncan Jones so I'm checking out the following:


1. Solaris
2. Sunshine


Are they any good? What else would you recommend?

Jamie Anderson Interview 2 on Celtica Radio

NEW AVENGERS CORGI CLASSICS

The New Avengers is having another rerun of reruns on ITV4 here in Britain and so I thought I’d dust off my New Avengers Corgi Classics for a few photos, before I settle down to watch tonight's episode.

These die cast editions came out in 2000 and for some reason only featured Steed’s Green Range Rover and Mike Gambit’s Red Jaguar XJS. 

 Corgi Classics did and do produce a TR7 and a MGB, both types of car driven by Purdey in the series, so to my mind it would have been nice for Corgi to complete the trio.

These Corgi cars come with a nice hand painted white metal figure of Steed and Gambit which help with the collectability.

The boxes, in keeping with the essence of the series have a nice patriotic look.

Right, time to settle down, crack open a bottle of Champers and watch the New Avengers tackle 'The Last of The Cybernauts!'
