These Tonka trucks could be straight outta Anderson!
I'd no idea the metal makers made such cool vehicles.
Did you have anything like this?

I think these are the small Mini Tonkas. Metal with plastic interiors. I think I had a couple of the small trucks; and the larger car transporter, which came with a couple of plastic cars (larger than Matchbox). Around the late 1960s or early 1970s.
ReplyDeleteThe green truck is a very nice example of the mini tonka hot rod pickup/ hot hauler. It’s about nine inches long and four inches high and wide.
ReplyDeleteThe red van is a tiny tonka van, runs about five inches long. The tiny tonka line ran from 1968 to 1978.
Sorry, meant the green eco line truck is probably five inches long. Not a lot of info I can find at this moment that gives an accurate measurement. The delivery truck version is listed as nine inches by four by four but sites tend to list the green large chromed engine version as being part of the tiny line instead of the mini line.
Deletegreat little toys - Tonka were everywhere in the seventies, especially the big yellow tippers and shovels. The little Tonkas like this are really nice toys indeed, very durable and solid. Bill
