It was the first Spring car boot of the local season yesterday and great fun.
I picked up a few cheap bits to keep me entertained including some Action Man items, some action figures including Kevin Costner, a transformer, a Matchbox carry case, two clamshell VHS and a couple of die-cast. The Missus found a gorgeous Sixties toy called Match Blocks.
Oh, and a nice red Corgi Rockets. Is it a Morgan?
Anything here you like readers?
Have you got a sale or a fair coming up?

These three items remain unidentified. Two plastic figures and an old die-cast. Any ideas?

Yep - a Morgan Plus 8, i think. Turbocopter backpacks are cool and the white Space Explorer Jet Pack is an especially good find. Not sure which figure is Costner - the half naked angry dude?
ReplyDeleteTwo to the left from him. Robin Hood. Don't know who the guy in between them is. A Tracy?
DeleteSellers always say they sold there best stuff earlier on. It used to bother me but not any more. I'm happy with the leftovers. Getting up at 6am to be first in the queue is something I did twenty years ago but I like my sleep too much now!
Deletemy eyes went straight to the Centaurs.Monster base has several Centaurs, but those two are different.
ReplyDeleteChap Mei Brian from their line of blister Hercules sets.
DeleteI had to look it up. 6 loose figures for one pound at the sale. I couldn't resist.
DeleteThat is a cracking haul for the start of the season, Woodsy. As Bill mentioned, the vintage Action Man 'Space Explorer' jet pack is a real rarity. I think the suit was only on the shelves in 1971. It's an incredible find, especially at a car boot. We'll done, Woodsy... that's a great piece.of good fortune right there 👏
ReplyDeleteFantastic info that Tony and Bill. I wouldn't have known. I like to buy bundles if I can. Can you believe the whole Action Man parts bundle cost just one pound.
DeleteThat's a wonderfully crazy price, Woodsy. You could search cat boots for a lifetime and never find the Jet pack. Incidentally, I believe the Hasbro design was influenced by an earlier version of the Bell Rocket Belt.
DeleteIs that a Lledo Horse Drawn Tram I see in the white/cream box ?
ReplyDeleteWell done on the Matchbox Carry Case.
I have a kit and die-cast fair coming up tomorrow - 27 hours to go.
I do not know about the flea-markets/car boot sales, but these fairs start at a more civilised hour, which does not require you to crawl out of bed during the hours of darkness.
