It's a Friday night Blighty classic here, egg, sausage and chips, salt and vinegar and hot sweet tea! Ah, the good life! Now, where's my Beano comic to read with it!
What are you having for tea readers? or whichever meal it is where you are on the globe?
🫖
Richmond sausages chips and beans!
ReplyDeleteSince you ask, it's just after 4pm in NYC as I read this so I'm sitting enjoying a sandwich with Heinz Sandwich Spread (from the UK) a cup of Tesco Original Tea which I bring back from the UK as it reminds me of the taste of Home and Colonial Tea, a brand that ended in the 60's.
ReplyDeleteFor reading matter I pulled out my Beano, issue 466 dated June 23 1951. A replacement copy for the very first comic I read.
I was walking with my father across the lawn at Finsbury Park in north London to see the foundations of the gun pits that a few years before housed anti aircraft guns during WW2.
Ahead of us ran double deck London Transport trams. It was a sunny day on on the grass ahead of us was a white patch. When we approached it was two comics someone had dropped, Beano and Dandy. I've been reading comics ever since.
This week I pledged on KICKSTARTER for a new version of Dan Dare, it just never ends!
Tea is called Supper in Australia.
ReplyDeleteMy Missus makes an amazingly good "Veggie Bake" after I've washed and sliced the potatoes and garden greens.
Other ingredients include sliced sweet potato, carrots, corn and fetta cheese chunks. The slices are layered in a crock pot and drizzled with Olive Oil.
The topping is breadcrumbs cheddar cheese and sliced tomatoes as the top layer, all baked to a crispy golden crust!
Yum!
