Blimey, I so recall this rubber frog idling online. I had so many rubber animals and insects as a kid. Frogs, snakes, tons of snakes, crabs, ants, flies, centipedes and even a severed hand!
I can still feel the waxy surface of them and deep oily smell.
Happy rubbery days!
Did you have any?

Had a few small ones.
ReplyDeleteMade from an oil based, hot pour, rubber.
Illegal now, I think.
Illegal, really! I wondered why they weren't in modern toy shops. I think I got mine from Zoo gift shops as a kid. Belle Vue most likely.
DeleteI grew up picking blueberries at local farms for pocket change.I bought alot of those jigglers at the local 5 &10(bargain store)with my earnings.Dinosaurs and Sharks were also popular rubbery choices.
ReplyDeleteYes, rubber sharks and fish. I remember them! Still got your jigglers Brian?
DeleteThere's a few kicking around.I think modern soft plastic toys are pvc or vinyl. But those old rubber toys definitely felt greasy and had a faintly petroleum scent to them
ReplyDeleteI loved that grease and niff!
