The taste of youth! Well mine at least: Arctic Roll, Angel Delight, Chicken crispy pancakes! heaven! Was it yours too?
And look at those huge Wimpy meals! I thought it was just a burger joint! Not a place I went although Preston did have a Wimpy bar. Everything was so cheap!
Did you have a Wimpy?
And Down Under those pastes must have tasted so good!
What's the taste of your childhood readers?

I was mooching around the International food section of Cole's Supermarket in Katoomba. There, on special, no less were packets of Twiglets!
ReplyDeleteThey disappeared beyond my event horizon over 50 years ago, but here they were again.
...and they tasted just as I remembered!
Mmmm. Twiglets. Love em Looey. Glad you're reunited with the salty twigs!
DeleteDid have one or two Wendy's Woodsy, but my go to restaurant food was Harry Ramsden's fish and chips from their first and, at that time, only restaurant in Guiseley (or was it Yeadon ?).
ReplyDeleteAs for packet food at home, Crispy Pancakes certainly featured, but I'd say the most common were Bird's Eye Beefburgers, preferably the ones with onion. Used to have them with mashed spuds and Heinz Baked Beans.
Only been to Harry Ramsdens once Mish. It's a day out from Ackworth! I so remember Birds Eye beef burgers with onion. They tasted great. I bet you can still get them!
