Well Woodsy,
I found a decent enough photo of our old ashtray. The photo dates from Christmas of 1963 and I can see where my far-less-than perfect memory got several of the details wrong.
But there you have it anyway. You can just spot it standing to the left of our new, state of the art portable stereo unit.
The ashtray appears in a couple of photos from a few years earlier, but it's much harder discern in those pics.

That groovy photograph is like a "Who's Who" of Retro Icons, how cool! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThanx Rob! My folks were so proud to get that, but then within the next year they got one of those huge wooden console TV's with built in stereo and LP storage.
DeleteFunny how much of our past lives has "Red Shifted"!
ReplyDeletewe've gone so far yet somehow - in too many aspects - we haven't budged an inch!
DeleteAw, Xmas Morning 1964. How wonderful Ed. Who will have taken the snap? I'd been 4 for 24 hours!
ReplyDeleteMy mom was the family photographer Woodsy. My dad never touched a camera - don't know why, it just wasn't his thing.
