Woodsy,
While perusing my files to prepare for more blog posts, I came across yet another bank.
This time it's a tin-litho affair from U.S. Metal Toy. While there is no manufacturer's hallmark, this is definitely a U.S. Metal Toy product (I have another one like this that isn't a bank).
This was most likely made in the mid-to-late '50s.

That is beautiful, and packed with action.
ReplyDeleteThanx Paul! U.S. Metal toy made some nice Western themed toys then - loads of nostalgia!
DeleteVery nice, I love the comics-type lithos. A tight spot there!
ReplyDeleteThanx Arto! It's like having a comic book on a toy.
DeleteTin Litho toys are a lost art form, I have always loved them. This one is a real beauty! SFZ
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Rob. A couple of companies have tried to bring them back, but really, their time has passed.
DeleteLooks ace that Ed, half way between banks and toys. Really captures the spirit of the horses and wagon.
ReplyDeleteThanx Woodsy! I love how they packed as much action as they could in the artwork - very reminiscent of '50s era cowboy shoot 'em ups.
