I picked up a bunch of old cine films and a projector today. All for a tenner.
I love the box art!
The lower three are still sealed.
Have you any cine films readers?

I've got some super 8 stuff that I shot myself and I've got the standard 8 Stingray and XL5 films but without the boxes. Don't own a projector anymore. Years ago I had the gear, including editing stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow, home movies! Are they sci fi Kev?
DeleteSort of. I took a load of footage at the 1982 Doctor Who celebration at Longleat. I just did daft little films, but it amused me!
DeleteYou lucky, lucky boy. What a wonderful find. I have never had any actual films - I do not recall even seeing any of these around in New Zealand, although they might have been out there in limited numbers. Where did you find these treasures ?
ReplyDeleteThey were in a decent junk shop in Selby, which we go in now and then. Together with a boxed projector it was a bargain. At some point I'll try out the film that's on the projector, as yet unknown! If I needed another hobby. I could easily collect cine films in boxes Paul, the precursor to video.
DeleteI'm intrigued by the one titled "Battle of the Giants".The cover art is from 1940's One Million B.C.
ReplyDeleteIt is from One Million BC Brian. A digest. https://super8database.com/films/1034
DeleteNow that is a cracking haul for some fun old school entertainment, Woodsy. Keep you going for a while.
ReplyDeleteCheers Tone. I was chuffed. Trouble is some are still sealed! I can't open them! I just can't do it!
DeleteHaha, I totally understand, Woodsy... it's tough being a collector/custodian :)
DeleteOh my god these bring back so many fond memories. I had hundreds of 8mm movies in the 1960s and 1970s, and then again after ebay in the 2000s. Ken Films and Atlas Films were my favorite brands, them being the cheesiest prints with the weirdest titles! SFZ
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd like these SF! I just need to figure out how the projector works now and I can watch Reptilicus, as that's not sealed! I could collect these cine films quite easily!
