Watching old episodes of Toy Hunter has been fun.
Here's two old IDEAL games that Jordan found in American lofts.
This one, Ideal's Mr. Rembrandt, I don't know but I like it. A sort of Mr. Machine robot combined with Spirograph. It draws shapes as it motors round its paper. How cool is that!
Is it one you know?
This one I do know, Electronic Detective. At least I know of it. I found two of these in the late 1990's at car boot sales and sold them on. A fabulous 'computer' helps work out who the perps are in a sort of electronic Guess Who.
Is this one you know readers?
Both of these weird toys are new to me, and I would have wanted them both! We don't get Toy Hunter here in the States, to my knowledge... SFZ
ReplyDeleteIt's a US series SF from about a decade ago. I'm rewatching it on You Tube. Worth seeing. The American toys NJ's Jordan Hembrough finds are incredible.
DeleteMy mother still complains about Mr Rembrandt. It wasn't particularly kid friendly, often dragging the paper and ruining the design. It also had a loose on/ off switch and would often be found running inside the box and making lots of noise. An ambitious idea, but maybe for older kids or teens, I think.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, IDeal should have consulted you Brian!
