Oh my. Bagpuss is one of the greats. Right up there with Chigley, Camberwick Green, Trumtpon, The Herbs/Parsley&Friends, The Clangers etc. Professor Yaffle suggests that you should buy yourself the dvd to watch over Xmas.
Woodsy, my mother was a baker (not by trade - but by necessity being the cook and baker for a large family when she was growing up) and baked millions of cookies each Christmas. I remember mostly sugar cookies with glittery sugar sprinkles on top as well as cashew nougat cookies and rum balls. 'Archway' brand cookies still makes the cashew nougat cookies which I buy every year (and which BTW there's a bag sitting next to me by the computer). There were also those bags of hard candies that looked like raspberries with a gel filling, 'S' shaped peppermint candies, and a variety of different flavored candies - some with filling
Your Mum sounds hard working and a creator of Christmas cheer Ed. I love Xmas cookies & we made a batch of Spritzgebeck this weekend with the grandkids. I love the sound of all your candies And Archways sound delicious!
Thankfully, Bagpuss was still asleep.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it Kev but I am rather slow on the uptake!
DeleteIn Bagpuss, the toys in the shop only come to life if Bagpuss is awake. When he's asleep, they remain dormant.
DeleteAh, I never saw Bagpuss. Nice idea though.
