I've written my Xmas cards today, whilst listening to carols on You Tube with a log fire on the telly screen! How Festive is that!
Are you getting there? That festive feeling?

I have to say my 10 yr old granddaughter jump started my festive feeling. Over here there's a large movement of people who think you shouldn't start decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. She is blissfully unaware of that movement and was on Opa's case to start putting up the Christmas tree and train layout a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving!! LOL That's okay because as slow as I move, I need the extra time to get things done! Anywho, the tree is up, the train layout is up, the stockings are hung, the Hungarian Advent calendar is on the wall, as well as some other decorations. I've been drinking egg nog (both the 'straight' kind and the spiked aka Eierlikör), eating Christmas cookies, spending rare time in front of the TV watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas music. At 71yrs old there's no saying how long I've got left to do any of this so I am trying my darndest to keep up the spirit.
ReplyDeleteGood on ya Ed! You're a tonic for the Grinch currently residing in me. Very slowly I'm feeling something. Something festive. My wife's Weihnachtsmusik is playing on the tape player and We've bought some mince pies. The fact that the Grandkids aren't coming to Moonbase before or during Xmas makes it much less meaningful I have to admit this year. Still, some Eierlikor and Charles Dickens should light the stubborn flame of Yuletide.
