I caught these old NASA prints on old auctions so kept the images.
The Grumman MOLAB on its test bed travels, a superb lunar concept workhorse known to Project SWORD fans as the ANT.
Do you any old NASA prints like this?

A marvelous design, and inspiration for several on-screen vehicles: two which come to mind are an episode of Captain Scarlet & The Mysterons, and Moon Zero Two! SFZ
ReplyDeleteYes, SF. I'd like to know which ep of Cap Scarlet if you ever recall but I do remember Moon Zero Two's Moon Fargo! What a vehicle and what a film. It was the name of my toy mail order service back in the early 1990's, Moon Zero Toys!
DeleteWhen I was a kid and Apollo was fresh, the local supermarket (USA) had a large collector's book and each week you'd get a new photo-print of something from the moon missions. "Collect them all!" It was really beautiful and I had managed to acquire my little brother's copy too. Wish I still had them. Actually that reminds me, there was a similar supermarket collector's thing, the US presidents. There was a styrofoam set of stairs with columns, for a display stand, and then a painted plastic figure of each president. I wouldn't mind having that, too. Of course, I'd have no place to put it, along with all the other "vintage" stuff from my childhood...
ReplyDeleteThat space alnum sounds great Baron, I wonder what it was called? I looked up those presidents and found these - are these the ones? https://www.retrothing.com/2006/02/marx_plastic_us.html#:~:text=1960's%20toy%20manufacturer%20Marx%20made,giveaway%20at%20a%20grocery%20store.
DeleteThose are the presidents, yes. I couldn't find the photo book online. It was oversized, softcover, light blue with one of the photos as a small insect on the front.
DeleteINSET not INSECT!!! I HATE "AUTOCORRECT."
Deleteha ha, me too Baron!
