The paint scheme and decal are custom, the model is a 1/32 GLENCOE MODELS MCDONNEL XV-1 CONVERTIPLANE. I saw one of the two built at the Smithsonian Museums reserve collection some years ago and immediately recognized it from a Kleeware kit I built in the 50's. The actual aircraft first flew in 1954 and appeared in a Frank Hampson reference sketch for Dan Dare.
Great fun. Well done.
ReplyDeleteCool! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool copter, very Dan Dare, is it a standard design or a custom?
