The Missus and me have just finished our latest box set, Travellers.
We really enjoyed it.
Time travel, crises, catastrophes, secret organisations, it's got the lot! It's a good few years old too.
Yep, it's a bit talky and there's human interest but it is a series and not a film.
Having said that, we recommended Manifest to relatives and they can't stand it, naming it soap sci-fi.
So, I wonder if any readers have seen Travellers as well?
Link?
ReplyDeleteWe saw in on Netflix Baron. Here it is on Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelers_(TV_series)
DeleteThanks very much, I'll check it out.
DeleteI think pretty much all recent Sci-Fi is "soap sci-fi." Too little Sci-Fi, too much human interest. Humans are boring! Glad you liked it though. We're enjoying Ancient Aliens. And yes, I believe every word of it. SFZ
ReplyDeletePS: I also don't care for that new look of most TV programs, so slick and dark and computery-looking. In contrast, I just watched a newly restored, color-corrected version of Voyage Into Space, the wonderful 1970 TV movie based of the incredible Tokkusatsu series, Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot. Primitive Miniatures and bad dubbing and rubber monsters and Giant Robots - now THAT'S entertainment! SFZ
DeleteI saw Johnny Sokko side-on online SF and immediately thought of Boba Fett. Do you think Johnny inspired Boba?
