Hi Woodsy
I thought you might be interested in this for Moonbase Central, images attached.
This is a collection of Marx 6-inch figures from 1964, which I just picked up in a charity shop for £6, which I thought was a bargain.
As you know, the Marx figures came unpainted, but these have been painted very well, and considering that they are 60 years old, the paint has lasted very well.
There are 8 American, 4 German and 4 Red Indian figures - I assume there are more in the sets, I will have to look out for them.
Hope you find this interesting, and good luck with the website, which is a source of endless interest.
Regards,
Chris Jenkins
Those are really nice figures. A great find, at a great price.

ReplyDeleteTop class paint work on the figures. A truly fantastic find.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I recently discovered a similar set of painted MARX figures in an antique shop in the Blue Mountains. These were all US forces, rather than Germans. In the great Australian tradition of stupid pricing, they were marked at £10 each!
ReplyDelete"Tell 'em they're dreaming!"
They look smaller than 6 inch, say 3 inch.
ReplyDeleteAre they really that large ?
Oh yeah, they're 6 inches alright. Maybe my phone camera makes them look smaller. I also have some Marx Man from U.N.C.L.E. figures the same size. I know that Marx did do some smaller figures, probably including 3 inch.
