I've begun cleaning up the die-casts my friend Paul V kindly sent me as a Christmas gift.
The first fab four needed a simple polish.
2012 green Dodge, 1982 red Classic Cobra, blue Porsche Turbo [undated] and a cream Matchbox Jaguar XK120.
These two beauties didn't need much doing either; the flaming 1979 Matchbox Superfast '57 Chevy a lick of black, red and yellow and the smaller 1977 plastic-based Hot Wheels Chevy a little polish.
More work was required on these two lovely 1990 Flippers reversible cars.
Before.
After, some painting and pen work.
The last two in this post needed the most attention, a full repaint.
The terrific white Hot Wheels redline 1967 Ford J-Car and the light green Corgi Juniors Whizzwheels De Tomaso Mangusta.
Before.
After.
The rest of the group, three precious redlines, need metallic paint to do them justice, so I've ordered some new metallic paint pens.
Watch this hot space!
That certainly is plenty to keep you busy. You have became a die-cast restoration Master.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. It's a lot of fun I must say.
DeleteLast two, especially look fantastic! Lovely job! Bill
ReplyDeleteCheers Bill. Never worked on a redline before. It was a bit nerve wracking. Glad you like it. The green Whizz wheels is a matt pen finish.
DeleteExcellent, Die-Cast Guru! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThank you SF!
DeleteBrilliant, Woodsy! Literally so. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having fun!
Best -- Paul
Cheers Paul. It was very kind of you to send me these cars. I've got some new metallic paint pens this week and really looking forward to cleaning up the other three redlines. I'll post the results here as well as snaps of the three carded Hot Wheels, which I'll keep carded, they're just so nice like that! Thanks again Paul! Happy New Year!
