My Grandson Junior told me today that he can't wait to get home from school to carry on sorting through his Pokémon cards.
I remember that feeling so well, rushing home after school to do my own stuff and projects. The joy of youth.
Did you wait all day at School readers to get home and do your own thing? WhAt did you do?
I waited all day to rush home from school from when I was 5 o when I was 52!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! What did you Rush Home for Kev?
DeleteWhen I was a kid, for my tea and then to play with Spacex/Anderson toys. As an adult to spend time building Spacex/Anderson models!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! You're just a big Kid Kev!
DeleteI had to run and catch the Dark Shadows show on TV. In later years it was Star Trek in syndication. I always missed the first ten minutes of each episode. :-( My non-homework projects were usually models.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great childhood Baron. I really must watch Dark Shadows!
DeleteI certainly rushed home for tea, but also for the kids TV shows, such as Blue Peter, Magpie, The Tomorrow People, The Double Deckers, Motormouse and Autocat, Star Trek : The Animated Series, and any Gerry Anderson stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe best TV ever eh Mish! All gold! I so recall watching Scooby Doo eating a chippy tea! Good times.
DeleteI remember after school, going to a friend's house with a bunch of other kids to watch Huckleberry Hound.... Back in the black and white days...
ReplyDeleteAh, Huckleberry Hound. What a guy! Did you have tea at yer mate's Looey?
DeleteOf course, Scooby Doo. Not forgetting The Banana Splits !
ReplyDeleteDanger Island! Ah O Chongooooo!
DeleteWhen I was in grade school, it was to get home quick so I can either play outside (or in bad weather, play with my toys). In high school I remember clearly rushing home to watch reruns of Star Trek which came on at 4PM
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reason to rush home. Star Trek. I'm right behind you Ed!
DeleteOh great topic! The animated re-do of Gatchaman (called ‘Battle of the Planets’) kept me in shape for much of elementary school, running home from school to make it in time for the opening theme (and to gather swooshable toys to play along).
ReplyDeleteha ha, great memories Charles and great to hear from you. I've never seen Battle of the Planets.
