This was the kind of cheap spy rack toy I loved as a budding agent. The Bullet Firing and Puff Pipe by Woolbro. I think I saw this on Etsy so saved a pic. The grey plastic ammo looks a lot like the stuff you got in Redbox spy toys too.
And look at that header art! I'm shaken and stirred!
You?
I had a toy pipe (cream and yellow), but it only made bubbles - you could not shoot anyone with it.
ReplyDeleteSmoking, drinking, gambling, and guns - the modern Toy Police would have fits today. Long live yesterday.
Ah, the bubble pipe! A classic Paul. You can still get them!
DeleteNot sure how that pipe/gun works, but best not inhale or you might find a bullet stuck in your throat !
ReplyDeleteYep, they were risky times Mish but happy days!
DeleteI didn't have any spy toys as a kid but did have a couple of corn cob pipes! They were small and, if I'm not mistaken, were bought at tourist spots as souvenirs. The bowl was made from a corncob (or at least it was made to look like it) and the stem was a translucent orangey-yellowy color. I had fun pretending to be Popeye with those! BTW, I grew up a total non-smoker in spite of toy pipes and cigarette candies, etc.!!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I loved Popeye and his corncob pipe Ed! A great memory that! Never see pipe smokers here now.

ReplyDeleteHaha! Secretly pipe smoking!
