This is my new Century 21 Moonship.
I found it in a cabinet of old stuff in an antiques shop.
I've blogged about the Moonship since the start of Moonbase. Click on the Moonship label below for more.
Have you got a Moonship?

That's rather nice!
ReplyDeleteIt is rather Kev! Cheers.
DeleteThat's an amazing find. What are the chances of coming across one at a local antiques shop, when it is so super rare on the internet marketplaces? Well done, Woodsy!
ReplyDeleteI know Arto! I have found very very few SWORD and Spacex toys in antique, junk or charity shops. I did once invest a considerable amount with a seller for his rare boxed SL Task Force 3, which he had found in a charity shop for 99p!
DeleteMiracles, they can happen after all. Believe it or not, my first-ever Sword toy was a loose TF1, found in an antique shop in Edinburgh back in 2003.
DeleteTo think it was right on your doorstep all this time! just needs the little union jack sticker now.
ReplyDeleteI know. Its got the Union Jack. Not pictured soz.
DeleteGreat find Woodsy! I find antique stores to be depressing - they seldom, if ever, have anything that interests me :-( However, it is fun to see what others have managed to pick up.
ReplyDeleteIts the ones with cabinets owned by different sellers that are potential sources of toys Ed like this one I went to. I found two Beatles ice -cream cards posters there in summer!
DeleteI used to frequent several shops many years ago and had gotten some nice toys. As time went by they went out of business and what we have left now in Vegas hasn't been worth the effort IMO. That being said, occasionally on our romps to Boulder City we'll step inside a couple of stores and check out their offerings.
DeleteFinding something so rare at an antique store means that you were meant to find it. SFZ
ReplyDeleteI like your way of thinking SF!
DeleteFantastic find. Lovely condition and design. Very pleased for you, Woodsy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. Back in the 1990's I bought a tinplate Moonship from 'my' SWORD dealer and not knowing any better we were both sure it was the one pictured in Century 21 Toys adverts. It took the internet to put that to bed and tell us the actual toy was this plastic tube of beauty!
DeleteGreat find! From your tone, I take it it wasn't priced to the moon! Unlike the Antique shops here in Australia, which think anything they have is the Shroud of Turin!
ReplyDeleteBTW, talking of Antique shops, I have a new entry for your MB Cabinets thread!
It was very reasonable Looey compared to many of the told toys there. Its without its box but then again I don't think there are many boxes out there. I have got your new entry for 'cabinets' too, thanks! To be blogged soon.
DeleteWas there ever a Learjet toy about that size—but with fins and wings?
ReplyDeleteYes, by Mego. Its on the blog somewhere. Search for Learjet.
