Sometimes you see someone with such incredible skill that you just want to give up there and then and start shelling peas.
My mate Mark introduced me to such a one, Boylei Hobby Time.
Based in Colorado USA Boylei is a gifted diorama modeller. His use of lighting seems particularly inspired to me.
This diorama just blew me away, Defend the Tavern.
You can watch how Boylei makes this diorama on his You Tube channel.
Check out his other fabulous creations including his latest, a train lay-out.

That is extraordinary work! I learned long ago not to compare myself to these master modelers, and just chug along doing my model building at the “post teenage” level that I do. Leave the masterpieces to the professionals! SFZ
ReplyDeleteYep, leave it to the masters whilst us mere mortals can do what we do, I agree SFZ!
DeleteWow. Nothing else to say really. I agree with SFZ, modellers like this are working at a level far beyond anything a mere mortal could ever hope to reach.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing isnt it Paul and he makes it look so easy!
DeleteBeautiful work! Amazing post Woodsy. Beautiful craftsmanship like this is why I'm a collector. Do you know the old saying, "Those who can't do, teach"? I may amend that to, "Those who can't build, collect." That's why I'm a collector, not a builder - I suck at it!
ReplyDeleteha ha, I like that saying! There is also Those who can't teach, assist!" I was a teaching assistant for 13 years! ha ha
DeleteNot an easy job Woodsy. One of my late sisters was a TA for many years. She liked it but it wasn't easy.
