I recently did a pop up exhibition in Hyde, Greater Manchester, as part of the SciFi Saturday event organised by the Hyde Fundraisers. It was interesting that the only model recognised by the general public was Thunderbird 2.
It was summed up for me by hearing a woman say to the young girl that was with her, "Your Grandad would love this".
Maybe the antiquities department of a museum might be next!

ReplyDeleteHa! I think my models outnumbered them!
ReplyDeleteGreat Stuff!
ReplyDeleteJust trying to recognize:
Is that the Robot Parrot from Dr. Who "The Pirate Planet" written by Douglas Adams?
Off Topic, but of interest:
Matteline 1967 has just put up another video about Kitbashing the Thunderbirds models together! Great Stuff!

Yep, Polyphase Avatron from The Pirate Planet. Nomad from Star Trek, Mole, Eagle, TB2 and Space Sergeant 101 from Terrahawks as well as Orac from Blake's 7.
DeleteAll great models. We must preserve history, or it will be lost.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Preserving history is good, passing into it, less so!
DeleteWow! What a display of talent Kev! You got the big hitters out. Nice to put a face to your name too!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yep, sorry about the face.
ReplyDeleteAn extraordinary collection. For me, the MOLE is the crown jewel - just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks, yep, I like the Mole.
