Yep, there are still lots of films from my youth and beyond I've never seen, Sci-Fi, thrillers and all. Here's part of my leaky bucket list. Have you seen any of them?
- Electra Glide in Blue
- Soldier Blue
- Virgin Soldiers
- Destroy all Monsters
- Rhodan
- Leon
- Nikita
- Killing Zoe
- Billy Jack
- War of the Colossal Beast
- Beach of the War Gods
- The Quest for Fire
- Solaris
- Maximum Overdrive
- Easy Rider
- Food of the Gods
- Tobor
Which flicks have you not seen that you want to? Leaky lists welcomed!
"Destroy All Monsters" is the most Moonbase of the movies, in that it has a moonbase in it.
ReplyDeleteIt's also got an absolutely awesome soundtrack by Akira Ifukube.
It's probably my favorite of all the Godzilla films.
Destroy All Monsters is an awesome flick, a top fave. Saw it in the theatre, what a wonderful memory. See the version with the original American International dubbed English soundtrack - it really makes the film come alive. Do not succumb to the subtitled version! SFZ
DeleteI've seen Solaris, and Eady Rider. Both are regarded as cult films and both bored me silly.
ReplyDeleteAgree. SFZ
DeleteIve seen Electra Glide, which was excellent and Tarkovsky's Solaris, which like Bill E, I found tortuously dull! Even the recent remake with George Clooney couldn't engage me - although it did have a good soundtrack. Bill
ReplyDeleteI've seen Easy Rider, Solaris, Quest for Fire, Leon, Rhodan and Destroy All Monsters. Quest For Fire is one of my favorite movies. Solaris comes in two versions: the original Russian film and the remake starring George Clooney. It's more of a cerebral film, and it can be boring at times.
ReplyDeleteDestroy All Monsters and Rodan are must-sees, but only in the US dubbed theatrical versions. SFZ
ReplyDeleteI've reviewed Maximum Overdrive, it's good fun.
ReplyDeleteI like the Russian Solaris, although it is about 45 minutes too long. Both this and Soldier Blue (another good film ) are, or were, on Youtuube.
