Just a couple of snaps of paperback covers.
The first depicts two vintage SF novels I got at a recent library book sale - Woman From Another Planet by Frank Belnap Long, yummy cover by Basil Gogos (!), and Who? by Algis Budrys, cool cover by Robert Engel.
Do you like them?
Second pic shows two of my Watermill Classics, which I like primarily for the large print! But the covers are nice too, yes?

Vintage artwork is always the best, be it on toys, kits, or old books. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, a good book cover really makes the book! I'm actually reading "Who?" right now, not bad at all. SFZ
DeleteI'll have to track Who down SF!
DeleteYes, its very cool, a very early "cyborg" plot, and very very Cold War!
Delete'Who?' was the inspiration for Martin Caidin's 'Cyborg' which in turn was the basis of Six Million Dollar Man! nice one Bill
ReplyDeleteI love this type of art! I write an Artist Retrospectives series on my blog, if you're interested it's at themichlinguide.wordpress.com/category/artist-retrospectives/
ReplyDeleteGreat blog Baron! Love the Virgil Finlay write up! What an artist! I have some of his stuff in a book on horror illustration. His style sometimes reminds of Kelly Freas.
DeleteEmsh is next up on the schedule, then Freas!
DeleteWhat a terrific blog! So happy to see a profile of Hannes Bok, my all-time favorite fantasy artist! Good work! SFZ
