To complete this year's Space Glider thread here's Arto's beautiful fleet too.
From L to R:
Orange Hover NASA Space Tract*, Tarheel Grey Space Glider*, Durham Green Space Glider, Century 21 Grey Space Glider, Hoover orange Space Glider.
*= Not in the Moonbase Fleet.
Have you got a Space Glider?
Nice. I've got the Sword grey one and the Spacex 2 one.
ReplyDeleteSend us a snap Kev! Have you got the Rescue R6 as well?
DeleteGot them, ta!
DeleteIf you really want to wow your friends, you're gonna need to pony up some serious cash: https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/movie-tv-memorabilia/props/colonial-viper-hero-filming-miniature-from-battlestar-galactica-universal-tv-1978-1979-/a/7278-89483.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Too much that Baron! But it does have the wow factor!
DeleteI wonder if the Durham and Tarheel gliders shared a box Arto? Lovely fleet. The Hover STract is amazing. A great clone, well made. I love the orange colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks Woodsy, I'd love to know too. One day a boxed Durham glider will show up I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThe Hover Space Tract came up in Italy, which seems to be a treasure trove for little known toy variants from the Sixties and the Seventies.
I wonder if Hover copied Mego with this Space Tract Arto?
DeleteThere's a nice DayFran space glider on the Bay but the price is astronomical!
DeleteWho copied who - no idea Woodsy. Maybe the factory producing them made two different runs simultaneously for those two brands.
DeleteA beautiful collection! That Dayglo Green Tarheel Glider reminds me a lot of the one Tarheel/Durham space toy I had. I keep forgetting it’s name, but it was a jet/rocket plane of some sort, which had the movable “swing wings” of Thunderbird 1, and it was in that same wonderful green. Loved that toy, and even put it in one of my 8mm Sci-Fi movies! SFZ
ReplyDeleteNova II perhaps?

Personally I think you're bang on Arto. I was thinking the same.
DeleteExcellent collection Arto! Those would be nice to collect but I'm afraid they end up going for a king's ransom on this side of the big puddle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed, much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteFrom Helsinki POV collecting anything from outside of the EU takes its toll too, the shipping fees and VATs and whatnot.
