So I’m going through piles of old papers, and out pops this near-mint bubblegum card, of which I have no memory! “Mysterious Mars.” Apparently from a series called “Space Cards,” but other than that it’s a mystery to me!
Wow! Gorgeous vintage space art. This was from Topps in 1957 and would have originally been included in pieces of bubble gum. "T.C.G." = Topps Chewing Gum, Inc. Topps also made the 'Bazooka' brand of bubble gum - smaller pieces with little cartoon strips included in the packaging. The 'Space Series' has 88 cards and traces an imaginary timeline of what space travel might be staring with Sputnik and progressing to mankind's exploration of the Solar System
