I finally got around to opening a Flickr account, to store photos of my Japan SF models.
I figure it's as good a place as any to save these images for posterity - especially since I no longer own many of these models. I invite Moonbase readers to visit and look around:

Absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It’s a lifetime of building these things!
DeleteWow! Thanks for sharing. The packaging is fascinating but your colour combinations are far superior.
ReplyDeleteMy only suggestion is Post More!
I plan to! I have about a dozen more Japan SF models to get to… someday!
DeleteA question Zig: How oh how have you ever been able to part with any of them? I would guard this kind of treasure trove till my last breath! Simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteAt some point I realized that these models were gonna go in the trash when I pass, so I was lucky enough to find two toy museums in Japan who wanted some of them as donations. So they went to the best homes possible, at least!
DeleteThis is really fascinating stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to really enjoy going through your archive!
Thank you!
"Ultraman, (Ultraman), Here he comes from the sky..."
ReplyDeleteA fantastic set of kits Zig, and beautifully made, to your preferred 'toy style' finish.
ReplyDeleteAmazing designs. Like Derek Meddings on LSD.
Some of them are bonkers !
Thanks, there ain’t nothing like Japanese SF design, and I’ve been hooked since 1968!
DeleteA worthy successor to your old site Zigg! Beautiful like a cabinet of Japanese art! Thanks for letting us look.
ReplyDeleteHey, I wouldn’t have made half of these if I didn’t have Moonbase Central to show them off!
DeleteLovely stuff! I especially like the box art alongside the finished models!
ReplyDeleteThe box art is often as beautiful (or more) than the solid model, and comparisons between the two can be, shall we say, revealing?
DeleteAbout time you showed off your handiwork, let alone the stunning collection you have amassed! Wonderful work as ever Rob! Bill
