A toy fair surprise was a rare Batman handkerchief that I had been looking for for a long time!
There are three variants, and I've learned they are of British origin? Is this something you are familiar with my?
My example looks as though Batman himself has wiped his nose with it after a fight, but I haven't dared to wash it myself yet!
Another rare yet a little bit garish find is the Korean Dae Ji Co. Lamborghini Batmobile from the 1980's. Plastic with tinplate torsos and vinyl heads for the Dynamic Duo.
I found only one other example online, and it was sold on eBay - from Finland! Maybe this is something that was dumped in here in fears of copyright infringement. It really looks horrible, but is a Batmobile nevertheless!
What do you think?

I agree, the Batmobile is horrible, but it is a Batmobile.
ReplyDeleteNice handkerchief. I had either a Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet one, and a green Tarzan one. Very well used, they were my favourites. Very worn, if I still have them. But where ?
not to be sneezed at Arto!
ReplyDeleteThe logo 'Eagle' on the car looks very like the one used for the 1980's re-launch of the Eagle comic. Something else which should have been dumped!
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing for me about the Dae Ji Batmobile is its date, 1986. Twenty years after the original series it still loosely clings to, and three years prior to the complete makeover of Batman iconography by Tim Burton's Batman. A kind of testament to the degeneration of a brand before its vigorous resurgence.
ReplyDeleteAnother interesting point are the figures which are similar to those on the Aoshin Batmobile, produced twenty years earlier. Where did they come from? A surplus stock?
ReplyDeleteI once had a cheap Hong Kong toy of the Batmobile from the more recent film series. Action-powered of course. Loved it to pieces.
ReplyDeleteThe handkerchief is a really cool collectible. But I also like the random quirkiness of the Lamborghini Batmobile. A fun mix and match for me, Arto.
