This is crazy!

Like a Saturn V leaving the VAB! But its a gigantic bus!

What is going on?

Aha! Its a movie from 1976!

Have you seen it?

The tyre replacement is so Thunderbirds its untrue!

A long, long time ago on BBC. I think it was supposed to be nuclear powered and something goes wrong type comedy?

I have never seen The Big Bus, but the trailer for the film is available on You Tube. I also found this item which covers the bus in detail. There is even an article from Bus World magazine on the construction of the real vehicle.
It was 110 feet long, just over 18 feet high, had 32 wheels, and was built using two International big rigs. It was a hollow shell, but drivable for filming. Sadly, it was later scrapped.
The bus in the film is meant to be Atomic-powered, but the one in the movie was not. Like all good disaster movies, there was a cast of familiar faces.

I could not find any toys or models based on The Big Bus.

I loved this film. Very much a precursor to the Airplane/Flying
High parody movies. I loved the bar fight where a drinker smashes a cardboard carton of milk to use as a weapon.

Rewatching that scene after all these years, the first thing that struck me was how much it reminded me of the Zero-X rollout!
