I like the Civil War post of yours. I must say I miss not being near historic British sites to visit.
I always thought the Parliamentarian Army helmet that was dubbed 'the lobster tailed pot' visually summed up the New Model Army.
I have a couple of models in my collection, see above.
I'm presently reading a book about the origin of New York City and have just read how the English Civil War lead to religious groups like the Pilgrims heading for a new life in the new world.
That's what prompted the English colonies in New England, Massachusetts and Connecticut, to expand. When you had crazies hunting down witches in furtherance of their own religious beliefs, rational people headed south for the freer religious practices of New Amsterdam, which in turn lead to Brits outnumbering the Dutch.

Very nice figures. Who are the makers ? At first I thought the one on the left might be the Airfix mounted kit, but on second thoughts, no.
