After seeing the recent post from Scoop with his excellent photos of SUPERCAR I was reminded of this.
The Eagle Times of Autumn 2000 had a write up on Eric Eden, one time artist on the Dan Dare strip. The center spread of the magazine was his version of Supercar from the early 60's Supercar Annual.
Here scanned for Moonbase readers.

That is one of the most beautiful illustrations I've eve seen! What a lost art commercial illustration is...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful picture, and an unusual angle.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great image of 1950s future modernity, but I do hope Mike Mercury's noticed that low flyover !
ReplyDeleteLooks like the artwork on a 1950s transportation card game I've got. I must take some photos of the assembled vehicles, aircraft and ship and send them across.
ReplyDeleteThe illustrations look as if they could also be by Eric Eden.
