Hi Woodsy
Something else I thought you might be interested in - the Cosmic Water Gun from B&E. Unusual in that it's both a water pistol and a clicker.
I bought these two at huge expense from US eBay, because I had a flash memory of having had them as a child in the 70s (?), and had to find one! It took a bit of searching, but they must have been pretty common, though I should think most got broken (I vividly remember breaking mine!).
I must have bought them here from Woolworths. I was pleased and a bit surprised to find a packaged one. I'm sure I had a blue one though, so the search continues!
Did you have one readers?
Regards,
Chris
Oh wow! I have memories of a huge waterpistol bought at Woolworhs too! Mine was transparent fluorescent pink and styled after the Schmeisser sub machine gun.
ReplyDeleteIt even had a rotary handle on the side to fire rapid bursts of water. -That broke off pretty quickly.
Sigh...
Rapid bursts of water! That's an early Nerf Looey! Chris's water rifle would have looked great in a TV series. This particular model was released as a Star Trek toy as well and for Triang SpaceX fans one version had a header card incorporating a MOLAB lifted straight from Schoenherr's original art. https://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/2020/06/cosmic-water-molab.html
DeleteScotty in a bubble helmet! Art Theft mash-ups have been with us -like forever!
DeleteI remember seeing the carded Star Trek water pistol in an abandoned toy shop in Robin Hood's Bay, East Yorkshire in the 90's. It was in the window and completely sun faded to the point where colour had left the card completely. On the back wall among other things was toy pistol by ECO. Alas, the shop was permanently shut and had a huge hole in its floor!
