Arto has sent in pics of his new Batmobile treasures.
I'll let Arto explain:
First up is a trio of Clifford Hoover Batmobiles in various stages of (dis)repair. The most complete one is still missing its beacon cage.
Second photo is of the Aoshin (ASC) Batmobile.
Third one is a mystery. No maker's mark, but makes you think of Argentina or similar. It is actually smaller than the Aoshin, even though photos suggest otherwise.
Have you got any batmobiles readers?
Several. Just yesterday I picked up another Hot Wheels 1966 TV Batmobile - this one is gold, with purple trim. I will send you a photograph.
ReplyDeleteGood lord, those are beautiful! As you might imagine, I kinda like the weird blue knock-off even better than the "canonical" ones! But they are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, and Zig I completely agree with you: the blue mystery Batmobile knock-off thrills me to the core! I wish it could tell its story. Maybe someone someday can shed some light on its origins.
ReplyDeleteWow... very impressive and all super cool examples, Arto. Love that stunning Aoshin (ASC) version. It's so difficult to find in this sort of condition. Thanks for sharing pics of your vintage treasures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony. The black Aoshin is very dear to me because Santa brought me one in the Sixties. I still have that childhood treasure in a customized state. Still runs though!
ReplyDeleteHoover had high standards for a cloner. Those Batmobiles are so detailed and not cheapo at all. I like Hoover Hover toys a lot Arto.
