Today's local Sunday car boot threw up a few goodies. It was the last very local one of the season. We will have to go further afield from now on.
Anyway we picked up a 2009 At-At for Junior, an original Han Solo from 1983, a 1975 Super Kings pick-up and a bunch of James Herbert creepy paperbacks for winter reading. The old grasses field guide goes in the loo library.
This stack of old lovely condition How and Why softback books were a steal. I remember some of them like Primitive Man as if it were yesterday.
Did you have any readers?
Nice set of How and Whys.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover art.
They are lovely aren't they Mish. These are all 70's re-issues and much floppier than I remember my originals being, these are almost magazine like. You can see some prices like 25p on the corners.
DeleteAh, those glorious covers!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of How and Why books. I only had a few, and none of these ones. The ones I had all had light card covers, with paper pages. Not floppy.
ReplyDeleteI will have to compare these new ones to my odd old one Paul.
DeleteA ace haul, Woodsy. Especially like those How and Why. You nabbed some nice things there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. It was fun in the beginnings of the Autumn sunshine and the Hows and Whys were a treat to find.
DeleteLove the at at:)
ReplyDeleteIt is nice EW!
DeleteH&W mags are great, I had Flight, Stars and of course Dinosaurs. Some fab cover art. Got the space one too, both US and UK editions for the Prospector!
ReplyDeleteYou consider them to be mags? Interesting.
DeleteLovely bunch of How and Why.
ReplyDeleteThe Spear I found to be one of the scariest of Herbert's books - you have been warned!!!
Currently reading Moon. It'll be Winter when I get round to the Spear! Dark and cold!
