A great looking book. Duchess of Atholl, No.6231, of the London Midland and Scottish Railway, was a Coronation class steam locomotive. She was built in 1938, and as the title of the book is Today’s Great Trains, I assume this book dates from the late 1930’s ?
Like the look of the futuristic one. Not entirely certain Driver Dan would be allowed to smoke his pipe on it though.
ReplyDeleteHell's bells that could be a Chris Foss design there! Lovely artwork, whoever it is.
