Whenever I see a toy crane like this - a wooden one on Ikeas - it always reminds me of an illustration in one of the neat Project SWORD Make a Model books.
There's some great artwork in them and this is the crane pictured with pals in one of the stories in this one I posted in full years ago [ artist unknown to me. You?]
Do you like toy cranes?
Do you have the Make a Model books or other Century 21 cut-out books?
I've got both of the Sword books. I've also got a spare of the sand flea one without its models in it which is available free to anyone who'd like it!
ReplyDeleteVery kind Kev.
DeleteBased on that flying ship I'd say almost certainly John Stokes. Had a paperback SF book when I was at school in the 70's which had very similar art by John. Thatnks for the post - and memberberries lol
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, I did a post on an old paperback over a decade ago. I wonder if you mean that? PS. I love that word, memberberries! ha ha https://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/2011/02/heritage-by-sword-artist-malcolm-stokes.html
