What you have there is the Brown Buffalo Wildzord from the MMPR series Wild Force. The original toy was called Gao Buffalo from the sentai series Gaoranger. Both toys formed the waist and thighs of the combined zord.
Hi Lance. I'm confused because what you are describing sounds like something more specifically from Japan and not something that Woodsy could have picked up from a car boot in West Yorkshire. How come ?
Hey Mish. The sentai toys are from Japan, based on tv shows from there. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a long running tv show based off those sentai shows only with the heroes recast and the Japanese footage that is used monsters, bad guys etc) dubbed over. MMPR was shown weekday mornings on ITV starting in 1993. The toys for MMPR are generally reissues of the sentai toys only with less metal parts, changed stickers, lots of safety changes (no shooting missles, hard plastic swords) The molds are just reused with minimal changes, usually the blanking out of the Japanese words for the show title etc. MMPR toys are produced and distributed by Bandai who made them for the Japanese series.
I'm fairly certain there are a lot of MMPR toys that have been sold in the UK due to that. The toys are virtually identical to the Japanese versions with the exception of usually sticker changes, box changes, safety changes.
If it's marked Saban anywhere it will be Power Ranger stuff, they had an elephant and rhino of similar ilk?
