Sorry to read Marvin Lee Aday, better known to millions of rock fans as performer, Meat Loaf has died, aged 74.
I think most rockers will have in their collection, Bat Out of Hell, which remains a top selling album.
Our sincere condolences to his family.
Really sad to hear this. Big fan of the Bat albums. 3 is even better than 1. What a loss to the world.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Kev. I can still remember watching a filmed insert of Meat Loaf performing Bat Out of Hell on the Old Grey Whistle Test for the first time. Whispering Bob Harris was amused by his choice of name!
DeleteAlso notable for the gorgeous Richard Corben artwork on the album cover. Corben illustrated Neverwhere, Mutant World and Den and many Eerie strip stories.
ReplyDeleteVery sad news. Meatloaf was a force of nature and with Jim Steinman's songs a true genius. Now a singer before the gates of Heaven, RIP Meatloaf.
