This Guardian Rider by Son Al Toys is a hotch-potch of styles and origins I reckon, a classic cheapo mash-up but fascinating nonetheless.
From the box art it looks like there was a spider - this one - and horse and a robot too.
What do think readers? What are its origins? Is it ugly? Ideal for Xmas?
Strange thing - it looks to have the tail of a scorpion. Also, there are two heads, one atop the other. The upper head seems to have horns (or motorcycle handlebars) for steering. There are yellow plastic wings, so presumably the creature or machine can fly ?
ReplyDeleteIt is strange Paul!
DeleteVaguely reminiscent of the Sectaurs toy line...

Yes, well spotted Looey!
DeleteI'd hope this would be given as a crap gift by a mate into this kind of thing to another who is also a toy nerd, and then over a period of years it gets re-gifted as a joke, my parents and all of our extended family would re-gift a Neil Sedaka LP years ago!!
ReplyDeleteha ha, thats a great idea MJ. I'd love a gift like this! I used to give unusual LPs as prezzies I found in Charity shops: Des O'Connor's Greatest Hits and Jake Thackray's Bantam Cock spring to mind!
DeleteI had an album by Don Reeves, easy listening, old men with horrible far too young haircuts, I would ask DJ'S at club nite's I put on years ago to make it the last tune they played, it would clear a room in 3 minutes!!
Deleteha ha, a room clearer! Speaking of LP's, I've just given someone K-Tels 24 Fantastic Hits from the early 70's. I had 2 of them!
